Seems to be getting busier by the minute here - not that I'm complaining.
Over the past week or so I've had come in from customers:
An Onkyo amplifier (just dirty controls) and turntable needed a belt - a very quick fix
A Technics amplifier, this has a blown STM module
An Hitachi receiver, this also has blown STM modules
A Luxman turntable (fully manual), I did a brief short video on this
A Pioneer turntable(fully automatic), extremely complicated mechanism
Two stereograms seem to be on the way; a Philip "La Rondo" and a HMV "Tasman"from 1972ish.
What's more both turntable owners want reel to reel machines restored.
I've finally taken the light stands down in the office/workshop. I've put up my background paper Manfrotto Autopoles. These are two aluminium poles that expand and lock together between the floor and celling. A cross pole goes between. This allows almost twice as much bench space and clears the floor. They are expensive to buy these days (I've had mine for 25 odd years). I was thinking of setting up a studio in the garage, but I've lost interest in that for the moment.
A camera store has opened in Ballarat, something I never thought I'd see again. I went in and spoke to the chap who owns it and he said the business was started 3 weeks prior to the old camera shop closing. He was in an industrial area only doing a web store. They then moved, but the roof was asbestos sheeting (fine if not disturbed) and is due for demolition. They have moved into the Bridge Mall that was redeveloped recently. The mall is still deserted so I wish them luck.
On top of all that the weather has been super hot with areas just to the North reaching 49.6 centigrade.
Off to medical appointments in the next few days as well...
