Philips

This was one of Philips lesser designs from the early 1950s mimicing the grills of American cars.

Radio Museum lists the 123 as being released in 1950 when it cost the quite expensive price of 33 GNS. It was available in Walnut & Ivory or Ivory & Walnut. They simply spray painted different parts!

This example is pretty tired, with no back or dial glass. However, it should clean up well, and I might be able to reproduce the dial scale, as I have a few peices of suitable glass.

Inside is interesting. It is build from parts from a much smaller radio. Most notably the tuning and oscilator capacitor unit. The valves are 6AN7 6N8 6N8 6M5 6X5GT

The speaker seems to be in good shape. As is the grill cloth.

I also have another unidentified set that uses the same chassis. The cabinet is listed on RadioMuseum as the Mullard MAS1110, but the dial glass and badges indicate otherwise.
