Tecnico
I could not find a start date or association with another company. However, Tecnico Electronics Pty Ltd was located in the inner Sydney suburb of Glebe. 13-19 Glebe Street, Glebe, Sydney, N.S.W. They used the brands Tecnico-Aristocrat, Tecnico and Pye-Tecnico.
During the 2nd World War Technico manufactured Bendix (of brake shoe fame) radio tracing equipment. A more formal arrangement was formed in 1951.
In 1955 Pye Ltd of Cambridge England bought half of Tecnico's shares. After this time the brand "Pye-Tecnico" was used. The name of the company was formerly changed to Pye Industries Ltd on the 1st of June 1959.
In September 1967 Pye sold it shareholding to Bendix. See separate listing for Pye.
Prior to 1955 Pye were using some of Astors chassis in cabinets sourced from England.
Pye Australia was subsumed into the Philips group in 1977.
