AWA Radiola

In 1950 there were still shortages in Australia following the Second World War.

However, things were on the improve. This is a fairly standard AWA 5 Valve design manufactured from 1950 - 1952. This was perhaps the last of AWA's designs to feature a Bakelite cabinet and Octal valves (tubes). There was some plastic introduced, the speaker grill, but formulations were still being sorted out, and sadly these distort with heat.

The valve line up consists of : 6A8G 6AR7GT 6AU6 6V6GT 5Y3GT.

This particular radio was purchased at the sale in SA in May 2021. It is is very good condition.
