Sanritsu Electric Co., Japan Transformer Works, Sanritz; Tokyo

Brands associated with Sanritsu include Artemis, Gemtone, King, Memotape, Sanritz, and Spica

Sanritsu began life in 1939 making industrial transformers.

Following the war, they diversified and by 1958 they were manufacturing small transistor radios, first with a metal chassis and point to point wiring, then circuit boards.

They sold their radios under many different brands and in markets all over the world. In the UK they were sold under the Spiket name at Woolworths. In Germany they were sold under the Jaguar, Sandhurst, and Spicer names. They were also sold under the NEC and Hitachi names.

Almost all of their radios were small 6 or 7 transistor models with a leather case. They even sold a "watch radio". This was a small transistor radio with a watch mounted in the face. (Sanyo sold the Coq d'Or - 7CW-P20 a travel  clock radio.)

The company was active during the 1960s, but radio manufacure seems to have disapeared by 1970. The company is still active making industrial machinery.

Spicer ST-600

The radio was a repair for a customer. The case was in very good condition, but the battery post was broken, as was the feritte stick. There are at least 4 boeard variations. There is a YouTube video of my repair here.
