Philips

Whilst this is a fairly common form factor for 1950s Philips sets, it appears to have been imported from the Netherlands.

I have a number of Philips 138 Mistral Four radio's in various colours, this is the first of the BX series.

It is a three band, Broadcast and Short Wave, it also features a tone control. The cabinet is a rich walnut.

This set was purchased in the Adelaide sale of May 2021.

The radio sounds deep and rich, unlike the local 138's. However, it will need some work as after a couple of hours it gets to hot to touch.

While it looks like a 138, and maintains the same proportions, it is in fact a little larger.
