Classic Radio

I cannot find very much information on Classic Radio.

There were two Classic Radio companies, one in Sydney that continued until 1981 production kits, but also in the early whole radios.

The second is more likely. A Melbourne company that producedradios and radiograms. The inested heavily in television in the ealy 1950s. Partnering with British company Raymond Electrics. The first designs were OK, but a later design was unreliable in Australian conditions. While only 3,000 odd televisions were produced they gained a terrible reputation. Classic teamed with an Australian designer for the followup set, but it was too late and Classic went out of business in late 1959 just three years into Australian broadcasting and a huge potential market.
