Pye

Pye was a large British company.

In the late 1940s, early 1950s Astor approached Pye for capital and expertise for the coming introduction of television into Australia. This was a success, with Astor capturing a large proportion of television sales, and the expansion into white goods and appliances. The partnership ended in the later half of the 1960s.

The partnership produced some good and not so good designs. The cabinets were pure British Pye and the chassis modified Astors. In the late 1950s Astor used Pye designs holos bolos.
