General Impressions
This was an interesting design from Sony. It features a basic cassette deck and a basic reel to reel in one, very heavy, unit.
I have two of these "things". One with speakers, and one with out for spares. Neither has been serviced at the time of writing. Both have dead motor run capacitors.
The sound from these was pretty average for the short time they ran, as reflected in the specs. They definitely weren't hi-fi.
I once saw an up right version with an eight track cartridge in the side. The sales person in the shop said if I had to ask the price I couldn't afford it! The thing was second hand! (Weird shop that sold Eastern European stereo equipment.)
