Sony

The Sony - XDR-S41D is a DAB+ / FM radio. Here in Australia we have the DAB+ system. However, it is only in major centres such as state capitals. In Melbourne there is something like 60 stations. Quality varies depending on the bit-rate, which in turn is dependant on the number of stations multiplexed to a frequency. Fortunately, most stations use at least 64 bits.

This one of 5 DAB+ radios that I have. I purched it during one of the lockdowns in the COVID pandemic. It's not bad as background noise, and unlike early DAB+ radios, doesn't chew through the batteries.

The only problem is there is no transmission in Ballarat, so I simply use the internet.
