Philips 155 Chronoradio

The Philips 155 Chronoradio was released in 1957. It is based on a European cabinet. 

There was also a Fleetwood badged verson. 

The 155 was Philips Australia's second clock radio, the first being the Model 145, 1954-1956. This using the 138/139 Minstral cabinet. However. the earlier model suffered from having the speaker on the top letting in dust and dirt. The 155 uses a side mounted speaker.

It uses the 6AN7, 6BH5, 6DB7, 6M5, and 6V4 valves. The clock is the American Telechron C98.

All the examples I have come across have been in very good condition, perhaps a reflection of it's 41 pound price tag.

It was available in vory, Burgundy & Walnut.
