2025 is now a distant memory, thank goodness. I'm hoping for a far better year in 2026 as it looks like my open heart surgery is not goi9ng to happen anytime soon...
Between Christmas and New Year I explored quite a few radios and worked out the parts needed. Yesterday I did a big order so over the coming weeks I'll finish many projects off.
The Philips 2262 is waiting on the dial cable. I haven't been able to find anything suitable, nor have I been able to source a four tap pot for the Pye.
We went to the local bazaar/flea market and bought 2 Philips radios for $20 each. One a very nice Model 199 from the late 1950s, and the other a multiband that was made in the Netherlands and marketed here. I managed to get both working. See YouTube above.
I was also given a very interesting Hitachi 3 in 1 from the late 1970s or early 80s. It doesn't have a radio dial, but four meters, 1 for each band. Never seen anything like it. It has a blown STK module.
Well I'd better get on with customer work...
